Citrus Iced Tea Recipe

So my teaching partner of 4 years just retired last week, it was kind of a sad day for me but a happy day for him. After 35 years of teaching he is going to live in a cute house in Savannah, Georgia with an extra bedroom just for me! (well maybe not JUST for me, but that is what I tell myself). Anyways... I always say "I like you" to everyone ALL THE TIME!!! So much in fact at our student led conferences Tim, my teaching partner, says "You have got to stop telling every kid you like them!" They already know that just talk about their progress... Well I hadn't even noticed I had been saying it! That is just how much I say "I like you" I say it to people I pass in the hall, I say it instead of goodbye, I say it on the phone, I say it to my boss, I say it to make people feel better, I say it to make myself feel better! I say it a lot!!!! Okay so back to the recipe:

This year for my birthday Tim got me a cookbook called ....... You guessed it "I Like You!: Hospitality Under the Influence" by Amy Sedaris, a comedian and actress. Anyway the cookbook is very tongue in cheek, and funny, funny, funny! It has lots of crazy uses for pantyhose and pokes fun at all kinds of recipes.

Aaron and I were looking for a refreshing summer drink and I remembered that I saw a recipe in this book for citrus tea. I thought I would give it a try and it turned out great! Thanks Tim!

So here it goes.
Boil a quart of water and add 6-8 tea bags
add 1 cup of sugar
mix in 2 frozen citrus juices from concentrate (I did one lemonade and one orange/lemon/lime)
put in a LARGE pitcher and fill to the top with cold water and Ice.

We used a huge (bigger than a gallon) pitcher and it was fantastic.
Not too sweet, not too sour and not to bitter.

I have become addicted to Starbucks "Iced Black Tea Lemonade" and this is a little bit better!

Hope you enjoy it too!
