Election Day!

I am so happy about the outcome of this years presidential election! When he was the projected winner I started jumping and cheering and then as the night went on and I thought about the meaning of this election and heard his speech I began to cry!I have never been so into politics! I have just been completely inspired and revved up about the idea of CHANGE! I drove 2 hours to Eugene to a rally, where I waited in line for an hour and didn't get in because there were so many people who wanted to hear OBAMA speak. He ended up giving an "encore" like speech to those of us who gathered outside in the outdoor stadium before he went in to address the people who actually made it in! I purchased yard signs, a car magnet and a t-shirt, and I even volunteered to help register people to vote! I had many options to help the OBAMA campaign but I thought that registering people to vote was the most "non-partisan" way to help! I am hopeful about the future of America, and about how far we have come as a country! I hope my participation in American politics continues long into the future! It feels good to be an active participant instead of just someone who wishes better for the country! I have enjoyed listening to the inspiring speeches by Barack Obama especially his speech on race in America. The election has been tough and very divisive I hope as a country we can come together to make a difference and move forward in a positive direction! YES WE CAN!
I know Aaron is glad the election is over! He can finally have his wife back instead of loosing her to CNN and long loud political conversations with her mom and anyone else who will listen!!

Jamie, I wish I had your beautiful white teeth! I love the
cute picture on your blog. Thanks so much for helping Sarah with her Math Homework tonight. You could do in 5 mins what would have taken
me hours. What a good Aunt.

You have your mom's eyes I think. Way to be, to help register people to vote. Good for you to get involved in something you believe in. I think that is neat

Si se puede! Dear heart, thanks so much for your energy and faith. Your generation helped me to not feel less than optimistic about the future. I'm glad Obama's going to be next. Hopefully, despite the mistakes that he will make, he will do nowhere near the damage to our national morale that has occurred over these past 8 years. Love you much. Marva (who thinks we should drive Aaron crazy with an Obama party when I come out in a couple of weeks:-)
